Terms of use

The terms for using coldcredit.co and a ColdCredit console account, and what a guide page is and is not. An organization's subscription is governed by the Business Terms.

Version 2026-10-20

Draft, pending review by counsel

This is a plain-language working draft. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer yet (decision Q19) and will change before ColdCredit launches. It is not legal advice.

Who these terms are for

  • Business users: anyone who creates or uses a ColdCredit console account. You agree to these terms when you select "Create account". You must be at least 18 and use the account for an organization in the United States.
  • Organizations: the organization that subscribes also accepts the Business Terms during setup. If these terms and the Business Terms differ, the Business Terms win for that organization.
  • Guide visitors and website visitors: the guides section below explains what a guide is. Our privacy policy explains what a guide records.

What a guide is, and is not

  • A guide walks you through freezing or unfreezing your credit on Equifax, TransUnion and Experian's own websites. You take every step there yourself, and the bureaus' own terms and privacy policies apply on their sites.
  • Freezing and unfreezing your credit is free at all three bureaus by federal law. ColdCredit never charges you for a guide, and businesses that use ColdCredit agree not to charge you for one.
  • ColdCredit is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to Equifax, TransUnion or Experian. It cannot place, lift or check a freeze, and it never sees what you type on a bureau's site.
  • When you mark a bureau done in a guide, that is your own report. ColdCredit does not confirm it with the bureau.
  • A credit freeze limits who can see your credit file. It does not change your credit report or score, it is not credit repair, and it does not stop every kind of fraud. ColdCredit does not promise that a freeze will be placed or lifted, or that it will prevent identity theft.
  • A guide is general information. It is not legal, financial or credit advice.
  • The business that sent you a guide chose its wording and branding and is responsible for its own messages to you. If something it says is wrong, tell it, or write to support@coldcredit.co.

Console accounts

  • Give accurate information, keep your sign-in details private, and tell us at security@coldcredit.co if you think someone else has used your account.
  • Your organization's owners decide who has access and can remove you. You use the account on the organization's behalf.
  • We may suspend an account that is used against these terms or the Business Terms, or that puts other people at risk.

Using the site

Do not:

  • try to break, overload, probe or get around the security of ColdCredit, or post false activity to a guide;
  • use the site to collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, bureau logins or other sensitive information from anyone;
  • copy, resell or frame the service, or scrape it, except as the Business Terms allow;
  • use ColdCredit to say or imply that a freeze improves a credit score or removes anything from a credit report;
  • break any law, or anyone else's rights, while using it.

Our content and trademarks

The ColdCredit service, site and guide text belong to ColdCredit LLC and its licensors. Equifax, TransUnion and Experian are trademarks of their owners. We use their names only to identify the bureaus, which is the only way to say where a freeze is placed, and we do not use their logos. If you send us feedback, we may use it without owing you anything.

Availability and disclaimers

We work to keep ColdCredit available and accurate, but the bureaus change their websites, phone numbers and steps without telling us, and a guide can fall behind. The site and guides are provided as they are and as available. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Liability

For business users, to the extent the law allows, ColdCredit LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, and its total liability under these terms is limited to 100 US dollars. Liability for an organization's subscription is set by the Business Terms instead. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, or any right a guide visitor has under consumer protection law.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia and applicable federal law. Before bringing a claim, write to support@coldcredit.co and give us 30 days to try to resolve it. For a dispute that is not resolved, the state and federal courts located in Georgia have jurisdiction, unless the Business Terms send the dispute to arbitration, or the law where a guide visitor lives gives them the right to bring it there.

Changes and contact

When these terms change, the version date at the top changes with it. We will tell account owners about a material change by email before it takes effect. Questions go to support@coldcredit.co.
